Test Code LAB2046 DEXAMETHASONE SUPPRESSION TEST (CORTISOL)

Important Note

The physician provides Dexamethasone dose to the patient and instructs the patient to take the dose before bed (11 p.m.) the night before they will come into the lab to have their blood collected at 8 a.m. Provider places lab order for Dexamethasone Suppression Test in their EMR or writes it on a paper form. Patients may schedule their 8am collection at the Fanny Allen outpatient lab by calling the schedulers at 847-8864.  Alternatively, patients may schedule an 8am draw at the UHC Campus by calling Lab Customer Service at 847-5121.

If Mayo Test ID DEXA is ordered with this test:  

        Collect at ACC only – Schedule a Timed Collection at 8:30am M-F or by 8:00am on weekends.
