Samples may be received in syringes, sterile evacuated containers, or sterile specimen cups. Ideally, the sample for synovial fluid crystal analysis would be placed in an EDTA anticoagulated tube.
Sodium Heparin Tubes are acceptable. Ambient temperature samples are acceptable but not preferred.
